Chestnut medicinal mushroom harvest out of woodchips! Pholiota adiposa has terpenoid Carnosol

below is what they look like brand new young - very dark like Shiitake color!

Here is what I just harvested - so they are pretty much fully grown:

yeah they have a nutty flavor that I think is stronger after the shrooms dry in the frig for a few days - to condense the flavor.... but they are also very medicinal, activating the immune system....

The major constituents of carnosol, carnosic acid, and clovane diol from Pholiota adiposa primarily alleviate AD progression by exerting anti-inflammatory effects. Carnosol, a terpenoid compound, exhibits various immunomodulatory effects, including antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory,, anti-tumor, and anti-fibrotic activities. Carnosic acid exhibits inhibitory activity against acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase. Moreover, Carnosic acid and Carnosol protect neurons from ischemic injury by scavenging intracellular reactive oxygen species,. Moreover, these compounds have the potential to alleviate the accumulation of pathogenic proteins and cognitive decline in models of neurodegenerative diseases.
